hi.
What an EGGcellent day. How many egg puns do you think I have in my back pocket?
At least a dozen.
Lol.
As of right now, YOLKED is available nationwide (Canada and UK, too) at the lowest price it’ll ever be.
For $2.99 you can grab an e-book and kindly leave a five star review as I have a short window to potentially become a BEST SELLER.
Egg puns aside, I'm incredibly proud of this story. If you haven’t heard, my son Beau asked me to make up a bedtime story on the spot about two years ago. This went on for at least a month…every. single. night. Let’s just say there were a lot of moral-less, plot-less, random tales told.
This particular story stood out however.
I started with the concept of an egg. A confident, stand up little dude named Sunny.
As I made it up, there were a few holes but overall it had substance. So much so, that Beau gave me a slow clap at the end and as he fell asleep, I started wondering…could I…no, no Nicole settle down…that is such an enormous task and you know zilch about…okay great let’s do it.
Let’s publish a children’s book!!
I started making sketches and trying to outline this children’s book that very week. I knew exactly who to speak with about it as my brilliant friend Samantha Joy, of Landon Hail Press, has been in my circle for a few years telling me to step into these shoes and write.
The beginning was easy.
Partnerships were falling into place. The ideas were flowing.
Then on a random Monday I got a call from a very successful acquaintance that opened my eyes to the dark side of the publishing industry. This conversation led to legal action and other adult drama. At that point, I put the entire operation on hold.
The next year brought costly hurdles … Frankly speaking, there were lots of opportunities to walk away.
YOLKED is about taking chances.
Listening to your intuition…
Hearing the whisper in your gut…
Trusting that it’s guiding you toward your highest good.
Today is a revelation for me. The reason I wrote this book was so that kids everywhere could create language and thought around what it means to hear their intuition and to stand in their curiosity. It certainly takes courage and hard work. Reminding our upcoming generations that they can not only do hard things but that it is necessary, goes a long way.
So from the depths of my tired-wired mom heart, I hope you’ll pick up an e-book today and help me spread the word.
With appreciation and EGGS-tra gratitude,
Nicole
