Where is the lie?
Leave it to the fancy pants humans to create lies.
Observe nature for five minutes and you’ll see there’s no lie.
It either is or it isn’t.
It’s yes or no.
Chaos or Order.
Nature doesn’t lie about the seasons and then screw with the bird migration just for funzies or erupt a volcano and then say “we take it back, get back in here you hot scalding lava.”
And now that AI is on the scene, literally putting words in people’s mouths (I fear for future generations), navigating truth over fiction (or is it propaganda) will become increasingly exhausting.
If you’re a mother, you can probably relate to the story I’m about to share.
Beau gets in the car and tells me proudly that he ‘did all of his homework at school.’
I said “all of it?”
He said “yes we had plenty of time and I got it all done…”
Two hours later I get a very long and detailed text message from his educational therapist (who is a SAINT of a man) that works with him on his executive functioning issues and organization skills. Kevin explains that Beau should have one and a half to two hours of homework tonight for the assignments that he needs to correct and the work that was marked incomplete …
I was livid.
Now given what I know about his neurodivergence and his executive functioning challenges - this is part of the process; LEARNING a personalized way of organizing and planning your week - but it’s not that - I just hate lies.
Thursday night, I attended the second live Freedom Series event with Peter Crone.
He started holding his in person freedom series as an intimate in person gathering. Peter mentions “the lie” frequently in his work. We all partake in this. Unconsciously or consciously, the lie has been a part of our survival for years and often stems from some level of trauma or unhealed events in the past.
I love the way Peter says our unresolved past is creating our current fear of the future. In actuality, we’re here now. We are not in the past, we are not in the future. Yet until we resolve those issues from the past, we spend all of our time in the current moment living a lie and projecting untruths onto our future.
Of course you're fearful of the unknown - you imagined it with your current framework which is built in large part on a lie. The lie that we aren’t worthy, aren’t loved, aren’t healthy, aren’t intelligent enough; whatever the lie may be it’s tainting our experience and our perception of what is possible.
We see this when we continuously make the same mistakes, attract and entertain the same ‘type’ of partners, revisit lessons we thought we’d learned years ago. We are fulfilling our lie by regenerating circumstances where we can prove ourselves “right”. See, I’m not worthy, I’m not loved, I’m not healthy, I’m not intelligent…and so on and so on…
The energy of the lie is what becomes problematic.
What we want to find, feel, and lean into is the OPPOSITE of this lie.
You know the expression: What we resist, persists. The lie, which essentially supports the resistance, will build up and compound for as long as we maintain the story.
In contrast, When we trust that we are infinite powerful beings fully capable of unwriting a lie, our self worth, love, good health, and intelligence can be reflected back to us.
When we allow, we are not resisting.
When we identify with the lie, we reinforce the energy of where I am now is “not enough”.
This reminds me of one of my favorite quotes: “When you’re in gratitude you cannot be in lack.”
You simply cannot hold them both at the same time.
Try.
It’s one or the other.
Chaos or Order.
Go allllllll in on something that you’re incredibly grateful for and notice how you must abandon appreciation to feel discontentment.
I realize this is just an email and what I’m expressing in a quick blurb can feel over facing and even trivializing however, the longer I listen to Peter’s work the more easily I can catch myself in my own lies.
As you can imagine, it feels great.
UGHHHH.
Not to drop the obvious here but the truth hurts and most likely so do the lies.
The difference is that only one of these paths can set you free.
OKAYILOVEYOUBYEEE,
xx

pppps. EPISODE 44 OF SHOCK AND YALL IS OUT NOW and I’m speaking with mobility mentor, coach and friend the incomparable HUNTER COOK. He is a master coach in the Functional Range Systems. Within 20 minutes of working with him, I declared him my mentor and it’s been game on ever since. He has a B.S. in Kinesiology, with a focus on Exercise Science. Hunter spent 6 years working in Physical Therapy offices to gain experience working with a post-rehabilitation clientele which allowed him to question the “why” in rehabilitation but also in personal training. He currently travels the globe non-stop teaching the weekend seminars for FRC and Kinstretch. Not to mention he was just in Paris at the 2024 Olympics to watch and coach his client Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone. LET IT BE KNOWN, this man does not do podcasts and his presence on mine is a true gift. Excuse the video quality of our zoom session in these social clips but you can be certain the dialogue and content is top tier. Please take a listen and here are a couple sneak peeks from our episode:
