Grammatical assistant reporting for duty: "...the visionary and the one we are all rooting for" would be properly stated as "...the visionary and the one for whom we are all rooting."

It sounds like 1800s English, which is (probably) why you opted to end the sentence with a preposition. I trust your judgment.
