The dirty moral high ground.
Life can be SO MESSY. Have you noticed?
I hope so.
Last week I had a frustrating three day stint of blocks, annoyances, negativity, disappointment, a little hopelessness and growing indifference.
This is terribly out of character for me and as energy would have it the more I followed these feelings and reactions the more I was met with similar situations.
I got desperate and broke down crying.
I prayed.
To God, and Jesus, and Matt, and angels, and my spirit guides and anyone listening quite honestly.
Out of nowhere I got a message (a literal interaction w someone) that was so alluring and confusing - it quickly became a mirror for my higher self. There was an opportunity to be seen in a way my ego reveled in while also being asked to hold to my moral ground.
This was so subtle.
I had to pay close attention bc it was only a whisper at first.
Have you ever had an opportunity that asked you to 110% stick to your truth?
You could settle, compromise, go half way, ignore, turn the other cheek orrrrrr you could STAND YOUR GROUND, risking it all?
This is not the first time I’ve been down this dirt road and it’s never fun but the thickening is real. The muscle memory is real. The way you are handsomely rewarded for being in your truth and acting from your highest good will never, ever disappoint.
And if it feels like disappointment, it’s simply shedding a layer of your ego that is likely already holding you back.
You are worth so much …and MORE.
You will be tested …and you will persevere.
You find peace and relief in your truth …trust yourself enough to own it.
And whatever you do, do not sleep on prayer.
The road can be filthy but the journey will cleanse you.
Ask and you shall receive.

xx

ppps. THE LATEST EPISODE OF SHOCK AND YALL IS OUT NOW and I’m speaking with the legendary MARY VAN GEFFEN. If you’re familiar with Mary’s ministry on Instagram, then you know what I mean by spicy… If you’re unfamiliar she helps people who are highly competent in life, but overwhelmed by motherhood to lean into the spiritual discipline of staying calm and cultivating warmth and tenderness all while trying to wrangle fiery future CEOs. Often this requires serious skill building, and the bomb of self compassion. Mary posts inspiring parenting tips every single day and just reading her social media will help you delight in your child and remember that you are enough. Mary believes that when a mom realizes how hard she is on herself and cracks the door open for some self compassion, her entire family is bathed in light. She offers online parenting classes and her signature eight week group program moms of spicy ones (MOSO) to help moms gain the confidence to choose gentle, respectful parenting, especially if they weren’t raised that way.
