I’m a believer that gratitude for where you are now is the jump off for what you truly desire. Sometimes that’s a huge ask.
You have to be satisfied with the what’s happening now for your big dreams, big goals, big shifts to arrive. It’s progressive overload - life edition.
If you’re standing in the now moment, taking score and feeling dissatisfaction, (meaning your focus, intention, and energy are wrapped up in what’s not happening) then why would you get something OTHER than what you’ve already gotten.
We have to look at life like a giant Q & A.
At times, it doesn’t feel like we receive answers because it works differently than we have been programmed to understand. We can ask for what we want allllll dayyyy lonnnng however if we are feeling the absence of XYZ then that’s likely what we continue to find.
More XYZ.
Last Wednesday we held our book signing and author Q&A in Barnes & Noble at the Grove in LA. It was a celebration of great accomplishment and deep healing for each of the female authors (Anjali Bhimani, Sharon Land, Jaime McFaden and myself) and for our publisher/friend Samantha Joy, founder of Landon Hail Press.
As Samantha and Anjali moderated the panel, there was a reoccurring theme; no matter the hurdle faced in the process of bringing our books to life, it was the personal healing that superseded the “accomplishment” of publishing a book.
Their questions eluded to Obstacles, A-ha Moments, and Inspiration…
The answers were nearly always comprised of “I was surprised to learn this about myself” in the process.
The other lassies (I have a Scottish friend who gave me permission to say this) all wrote adult books. During the Q&A, I was internally panicked because my children’s book wasn't the shadow self, deep dive the authors had made. As the night went on I quickly realized that was of little importance. I had my own awakening in telling this story. YOLKED came out of my need to speak my truth and parent with integrity. There was plenty of reflecting to be had, children’s story or otherwise. My triumph was packaged in 33 pages of animated egg drawings. And I’m grateful!
Success is wild because it’s perceived differently by different people. You may see success as a big house, brimming social calendar and padded bank account while someone else perceives success as going off grid, raising farm animals, and communicating with ETs*.
*let it be known that I’m fully here for this choice and if you’re living it, Imma need a reply with detailed notes of what you’ve seen.
If success is in the eye of the beholder than you must understand that each person’s journey to success came STACKED with imperfections, flaws, crazy pushback and seemingly insurmountable hurdles of some kind or another.
The road to success CAN NOT be smooth.
The questions you’re asking need you to feel into possibility and the answers that appear (note: some are masked in hardship) begin to polish and pave the way…
It’s the Q&A of life.
I wasn’t going to bring this up but at times we are asking the wrong questions. Although there may be no “stupid questions” as we all learned growing up, there are some questions that are keeping us in a loop.
I like to start with my WHY.
What is my WHY for wanting this/doing this/putting up with this?
There have been times when I’ve asked “why” and I’m immediately met with a queasy feeling in my gut. Some questions will need to be FULLY unpacked with the assistance of a therapist or professional, and to this I say, ‘welcome to adulthood’.
Your evolution depends on this perseverance.
Whatever questions you’re asking, trust that the answer is on it’s way. If you wanna speed that process up, get into the feeling state of living and experiencing your desired outcome prior to it being a reality. That little albeit enormous shift of perspective and intention will have your answers landing at light speed.
‘Ask and you shall receive’.
My biggest suggestion is to know WHY and WHAT you’re asking for so that you can buffer the process of evolving with your answers.

xx

Maybe joining at the last minute is the push you needed to embark on carving out time for yourself. ‘Prioritizing space’ is my phrase for September. Working out with us may provide space for you to remember the value in putting your oxygen mask on first. Sign up here. We can’t wait to see you…
