PPO. It's not what you think.
Some people invest thousands of dollars into Ivy League schools, graduate programs, and life long therapy to gain the deepest wisdom; I find life altering information from a branding coach on Tik Tok.
Okay, okay, she’s not just any coach. Her name is Danesha Mo’Nek and she went from being homeless to making 1 million dollars in 12 months. At least that’s how her Tik Tok profile reads.
One of her videos came across my feed last week and I thought, oh Lord Jesus we need to unpack this as a family.
So here we are.
You’ve been called to the family meeting.
I’m linking the actual Tik Tok video here if you care to see it.
She is addressing another clip of a small child commenting on the nature of god and reality. The little boy says “The universe doesn’t speak English, it speaks frequency. This is the most honest language in the world. Think about it. If you say something in a language you may doubt it inside of you, or you could even lie to yourself. Frequency doesn't lie. If your thoughts, mind, and desires are not aligned, you may not reach that frequency.”
Did his mother have him memoize this.
Did his father hold flash cards behind the camera.
Is this child some spiritual savant.
I don’t care because I’m here for the message.
Back to coach Danesha…she elaborates on this concept explaining there are 3 defining ways in which we see the world and ourselves.
Projection.
Perception.
Opinion.
See, this is NOT about health care after all.
Apologies if you’re disappointed.
Here’s my take … Let’s break it down:
1. Projection
“I can’t see you because I’m too busy seeing me.”
Definition:
Projection is when we unconsciously throw our own unresolved stuff (insecurities, fears, desires, beliefs) onto other people or situations. It’s psychological vomit disguised as truth.
Good:
It’s a mirror. If you’re aware enough to catch it, projections can become the gateway drug to self-awareness. (“Why did her success trigger me?” → ah, I’m denying my own ambition.)
Can be an invitation to excavate your inner world with a flashlight and a backhoe. Who doesn’t love a backhoe.
Bad:
If unchecked, it creates false narratives about others and repeats trauma loops.
Ruins relationships, distorts reality, makes you the unreliable narrator in your own story. Trust me, we don’t have time for that.
Turns feedback into perceived attacks and keeps you in “it’s them, not me” mode.
Bottom Line:
Unconscious projection is sabotage. Conscious projection is insight.
2. Perception
“The lens you wear becomes the world you see.”
Definition:
Perception is your interpretation of reality—shaped by memory, trauma, experience, bias, culture, and whatever filter is currently trending on your nervous system. Geesh, just reading that gives me pause.
Good:
Allows us to create meaning, navigate chaos, and bring color to the grayscale of raw data.
When fine-tuned, perception is your sixth sense—intuitive, insightful, laser-sharp. THIS PART LIGHTS ME UP!
Bad:
It’s never truly objective. You’re not seeing the thing—you’re seeing your version of the thing. Ugh.
If your perception is trauma-colored, fear-based, or soaked in scarcity, you're living in a funhouse mirror version of life. I use the word “fun”house lightly.
Bottom Line:
Perception shapes your reality. Upgrade the lens, and the world upgrades with it.
3. Opinion
“Everyone’s got one, most are loud, few are useful.”
Definition:
Opinions are judgments formed about something not necessarily based on fact or knowledge. Basically your mind's Yelp reviews unhinged.
Good:
Opinions help you define values, take a stand, form boundaries. They give you flavor and sometimes a niche market on Instagram.
When informed, flexible, and humble? They help shape wise discernment. The super secret sauce, IMO.
Bad:
Opinions mistaken for truth? That’s the birth of dogma, cancel culture, and Thanksgiving arguments.
Can be rigid, ego-based, and a shield against growth (“This is just how I am”—okay Chad, but is it working?).
Bottom Line:
Strong opinions loosely held = evolving human. Strong opinions tightly gripped = Twitter troll with a superiority complex … aka Chad, again.
Did any of this hit close to home? I mean, we’re human. We’ve all been privy to one if not all of these at some point.
Think of it like this:
Projection creates the story.
Perception edits it.
Opinion posts it.
The language we’re speaking is that of frequency and it’s always up for review.
Mean what you create.
Edit with discernment.
Post when you’re ready.
OKAYILOVEYOUBYEEE,
xx

ps. No live classes for a minute. I’m on a flight to Lima, Peru right now and off for a Sciacca Circus adventure on the Amazon River and then in Machu Picchu. My dream is to adopt an Alpaca and bring him home. Fairly certain that’s not legal so in the meantime, I’ll be sharing as much of our journey as possible. Follow along on IG if you like…
