Today’s email is a lesson in discipline, commitment, and self evaluation.
It’s the 11th hour because I did that thing again where I wait to get inspired and wow to my own surprise, NOTHING CAME TO MIND.
Shocking.
In my Monthly Fit groups we talk about the hard truth of the matter as it relates to training but in reality it can be applied to anything that needs to be done despite your big feelings about it; which is “you don’t need to like it, you just need to do it”.
That sentence.
You don’t need to like it, you just need to do it.
It’s a verbal kick in the butt.
It’s the bloody truth of everything.
The discipline it takes to choose the expansion of your future self in a moment of extreme comfort, is wild.
It’s impressive as hell.
In my eyes, it tells me so much about a person.
There is nothing like choosing tiny challenges in order to receive incredible growth and the ability to adapt with more ease during seasons of blindsided hardship.
It’s one of the top 5 reasons I wake up and train my body.
I like the way my body feels.
I like the way my body looks.
I like the way my body performs.
I like the way my body heals.
I like the way I move through this life in a body that partners with me versus against me.
Not that your body is ever ‘against’ you but it sure as hell can feel that way at times.
And still, we are piloting the experience.
"Obstacles can't stop you. Problems can't stop you. Most of all, other people can't stop you. Only you can stop you." —Jeffrey Gitomer
It would be sooooooo freaking cool if we could just keep moving the goal post and playing the blame game however if you look closely enough you’ll find someone with your story, your illness, your hurdle, your ‘bad luck’ (or worse), who has made a series of other choices that brought them through the storm.
We are all capable of our wildest dreams and when we treat our bodies like the sacred vessels they are, we can take our next right step.
Out of the storm, into the light.
I’m gonna wrap this up and go train my body now.
Thanks for being a catalyst in my doing what needs to be done - even if I’d rather not.
We got this.
OKAYILOVEYOUBYEEE,
xx
Nic.
