Welcome, welcome, welllllllcome to woo woo town.
I’m the Mayor.
If you didn’t immediately close out this tab and are still with me; I’d like to tell you about a *new* power I’ve unlocked.
Last Friday I had the privilege of attending the We Shine Well Summit. The women in this community are of like minds and they're what I would call “mentor up” women...
Not all of them because that's not efficient for community building, but many of them have traveled the road that I'm on and have found incredible success doing similar things, in my field and beyond.
One of the panelists, who I have not seen in 11 years but have met briefly in passing, is Kelsey J. Patel. Maybe you've heard of her? It’s likely. She's an absolute force of nature A very special human being. Kelsey was the first to speak after our sound bath healing and she warned us that she would be emotional...
She was.
It was beautiful.
She's not only an exceptional speaker - she wears her aura, soul, heart and humor on both sleeves. These are literally my favorite type of women.
I know a little bit about her history, but not that she got pregnant with her first child at 40 and was then met with severe illness and mental health challenges, just as her mom did at the exact same age, which obviously opened a series of wounds that needed tending to.
As Kelsey was speaking, she said, "If this lands for one person here today, then that is enough.” She explained that you will go through a drought, a plateau, a burnout - whatever you want to call it. It might be so abrupt that you question what you're even meant to do.
She said, "If you're here, breathing, and you woke up today, God is not done with you." I got chills.
Mind you, I'm in my chair watching her backlit by a floor-to-ceiling window that overlooked the Hollywood hills, and as she said the words "God is not done with you," a light body with a round head and shoulders, slightly larger than hers came to view behind her and then glided to her left. I blinked ten times thinking, "Oh wow, ok Nicole. Cool-now you've lost it. This is the end. You reallllllly do need to go to that eye specialist."
Moments later it was gone. It is seared in my mind.
I wish I could draw it. Maybe I will.
But Kelsey lit up when she said "God is not done with you."
Naturally I took this as a sign that I should accost her after lunch and tell her the story. Why not? I haven't seen her in 11 years, I'm pretty sure she doesn't remember my name, and none of that matters.
So after we ate, 15 minutes before I'm due to leave for my pilgrimage back to the South Bay to pick up Beau from school, I walk up to her and another bad ass speaker, entrepreneur and author Krista Williams, who I also haven't seen in at least a decade and say, "I don't mean to interrupt you bitches but I just need to have a chat real quick."
And I sat down.
They immediately welcomed me in and said, "Absolutely. Let’s go. How are you?" I reminded them of how long it had been since we crossed paths and 2 minutes later, I’m telling Kelsey and Krista about the vision I had during her talk.
We dove in like we'd been friends from childhood.
Kelsey was covered in chills (always a good sign).
And then she said “tell me about your relationship with Christ”.
I said “oh, wow. okay.”
There is religion and there is relationship.
Sometimes they blend nicely other times people can’t make peace with the dynamics. The exchange we shared was easy. Understood.
The conversation was literally 15 minutes long and deeper than some people go their whole lives. I made it clear that her message was perfectly timed. The vision was something completely new for me and of course I welcomed it with both of my woo woo arms. It was affirming. It was meta. It was exactly what I summon into my life because this 3D experience is fine and all but there is more.
AND I’M HERE FOR IT.
Kelsey’s words that day were everything I needed.
GOD IS NOT DONE WITH ME …or you or any of us.
As a perpetual student, this invitation is all I needed to get my head out of my ass and shift gears. Sometimes it’s like that.
Hear me when I tell you that there are levels to this life and I’m not speaking to an invisible caste system or the nature of socio economic tiers. I’m talking about what you want for yourself within your personal experience.
I beg you to get more curious.
To look beyond what feels familiar…
God is not done with you yet.
Why would you try to limit yourself when God has instructed you to expand?
I mean you do you …but I’m kinda excited at what else He thinks I can do.
OKAYILOVEYOUBYEEE,
xx
Nic.

ppps. THE LATEST EPISODE OF SHOCK AND YALL IS OUT NOW and I’m speaking with DR. NICK ATHENS. DR. Nick is adjusting mindsets. And bodies. But his focus has always been the integration of both. Dr. Nick has dedicated 42 years to helping individuals achieve optimal health through chiropractic care. He runs a high volume practice, focused on spinal health, aging and longevity. This is where the mind and body connection come into play. Dr. Athens approach is centered around lifelong education, which is the backbone of his book “To Health with You”. He has always been ahead of his time and his inspiring and powerful story of making a bold move in bringing chiropractic medicine to the mainstream media during the pre-game show of Super Bowl 24 (in 1990) when Dr Nick adjusted one of his 49’rs patients Joe Montana. He has devoted his life to opening people’s minds to the full spectrum of health. He is a devoted husband and father to TWO sets of boy and girl twins and one of the most passionate people I’ve ever met. I liked this just at the subject line jump!
As someone who has an ingrained faith but does not practice regularly, this resonates with me deeply. I’ve hit a point in my life where I’m constantly questioning what I’m supposed to be “doing”. I feel blessed every day at what I have but also know how fast it all can disappear. Thank you for writing this 🤗
